The client wanted a logo that would embody, and explain, the work done on www.thedigitalshift.com: “Technology-related stories and features to keep librarians informed as they help ease patrons’ and students’ immersion in an increasingly digital world.”
“The Digital Shift”‘s meaning wasn’t inherently obvious to the average user, so I wanted to include an book icon – bringing the focus immediately to literacy, reading, and all things librarian-centered. The “disintegrating” effect on the book was created to show the evolution of print to web, and all things in between. All in all, I think this effectively and simply communicates what you can find on this site!
